Passing Movement – Moving Back

LEVEL: Beginner

Coach:

Coach Jon Dazé discusses two different ways to move backwards: backpedal and shuffle. If the ball is served right at you and deep, backpedal is best in order to keep your mechanics facing net forward. If ball is deep and to the side, shuffling back at an angle is best to take the ball off the hip. Pay attention to which foot steps first on the shuffle.
